tril|o|gy «TRIHL uh jee», noun, plural -gies.
1. a group of three novels which together form a related series, although each is complete in itself.
2. three plays, operas, or other works, written by the same person and more or less closely related in theme or subject.
3. a group of three tragedies by the same author, originally always closely related in subject, written for performance in series during the festival of Dionysus in ancient Athens.
